The Italians drink plenty of red wine and eat a fair amount of fat. But they also suffer fewer heart attacks than the British or Americans. By the way, the Japanese don't drink much red wine.

We enjoy the stage and music. We delight in the color, light, and lines of great paintings. We join art and science. And we learn about the mind, society, and language.

Language is power. Through language, we learn knowledge. This knowledge is like a big bank. It holds the great findings of the arts and sciences. It holds the knowledge of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Language is the key to this bank. Through language, we can learn and teach powerful knowledge.
